The George Chamber Board and Executive Committee


The George Business Chamber was established in 2002 when the George Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the George Sakekamer amalgamated and became the George Business Chamber. In 2015, the George Business Chamber NPC Southern Cape was formally registered as a Non-Profit Company.

About the George Business Chamber.

George Business Chamber advocates for the advancement of business and community.

We are a non-profit, membership-based organization that collaborates with the other Business Chambers / Organisations in the Garden Route to ensure economic growth, development, and prosperity.

We conduct our business and interactions with stakeholders in an ethical manner and take a strong stand against non-ethical behaviour. The George Business Chamber NPC Southern Cape is lead andgoverned by a Board, Executive Committee (Exco)and 2 full-time employees of which one is the manager.

Our portfolio focus is determined by the socio-economic environment. Each portfolio is lead by a Board or Exco member and supported by appropriately skilled affiliates.

The subcommittee, comprising 4 to 6 members including board directors and Chamber members with expertise within the subcommittee purpose. It will be chaired by the Director of the subcommittee. Members will serve a 2-year term, with the option for reappointment for up to 2 consecutive terms. The subcommittee will convene quarterly, with additional meetings as necessary. Members are expected to attend at least 75% of the meetings and actively participate in subcommittee initiatives.

The George Business Chamber is one of the best chambers in South Africa. A growing membership base is evident. There is always involvement from the chamber in local events around George. They have shown their committment towards Entrepreneurship programmes and in conjunction with local business host very efficient networking evenings.
