As a mediator, I work with families and individuals who are experiencing conflict and need assistance reaching practical agreements. Mediation may be required for separation, divorce, maintenance, child care (visitation) matters. When a marriage or relationship breaks down, there may still be a parenting relationship, a family relationship, or simply a shared life that deserves to be treated with care. This is quite different from the 'winner versus loser' narrative that many people associate with legal disputes. Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process where the mediator helps people have difficult conversations and work toward agreements. Unlike a judge or arbitrator, I do not make decisions for people. I help them make decisions for themselves. The past cannot be changed, but I can help people create their future.
