My name is Melvin Mkhize, an Economic Counsellor at the South African High

Commission in Kenya. I'd like to draw your attention to the marketing

opportunity which is illustrated below:

the various diplomatic missions based in Kenya to participate at their

flagship trade fair, The Nairobi International Trade Fair. The show an

annual event is due to take place from 26th September to 2nd October 2005,

(one week). To this end they are offering us some space within the show

grounds at a small fee to display and showcase what our respective countries

have to offer.To date South African participation at trade shows in Kenya

has only been "industry specific" with individual companies participating

without DTI participation other than assistance through the EMIA scheme.

The Dti Nairobi office is considering participating at this trade show

together with the South African High Commission in Nairobi. This will also

provide us with an opportunity to test the viability of future participation

to this event. The organizing committee plans to put up an international

pavilion in the near future for all the accredited countries to showcase

themselves under one roof.

To this end we are offering your members an opportunity to participate at

this event through proxies, that is the Counselor (Economic) and the Senior

Marketing Officer (Economic). We will be manning the stand for the duration

of the show. We are also planning to compile a list of the visitors who will

express interest on the various products and link you up with them so that

we can jointly make a follow-up on the trade leads.

For those who are interested, what we will require from them are product

catalogues and other literature which we will display at our stand on their

behalf. Each company could send between 50 to 100 copies by courier to us on

the address provided below. It'll be appreciated if you can courier your

catalogues during the month of August so that they can reach us in time.
