The AGM was held at the new Eden school of Culinary Art in the PW Botha School grounds. It was well attended and members listened attentatively to the guest speaker Mr Albert Schuilmaker who is the Director of the Cape Town Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He enlightened us about the situation of Eskom, power shedding and the possibility of new power stations and the taking out of moth balls of 2 old power stations. All this takes time said Mr Schuitmaker and therefore we will be in a tricky situation for some time to come. He said that we should all do our best in our own capacities to save as much electricity as we can and if we all work together with this, the shedding would hopefully be minimal.

The new Executive Committee of the Chamber was elected as follows: Malcolm Mc Clelland, Ethresia Aver, Charlene Habelgaarn, Peter Heydra, Francois Joubert, Ryno Kleynhans, Gareth McDonald, Keith Sharpe, Sandra Siddall, Pieter van Rensburg, Pieter Wicht, Ria Vorster.
